RPG082SLE Leading Edge Cable Twin Leg 8 ft SRL, Snap Hooks
The Frontline RPG082SLE is an 8 ft leading edge cable SRL in a twin leg configuration for 100 percent tie-off: galvanized steel cable lifeline, quick-action braking, and a backpack style energy absorber at the harness end - rated for both leading edge and non-leading edge applications.
The lifeline exits the side of the compact thermoplastic housing through a rubber TPV ergonomic handle, terminating in steel snap hooks with 3,600 lb connector strength. A light connector attaches both housings directly to the harness. Stainless and non-corrosive components throughout, 310 lb max user capacity, built to ANSI Z359.14-2021 and aligning with OSHA 1926 Subpart M and 1910.

Who Needs This Product
This product is a leading edge rated self-retracting lifeline - built for tie-off at foot level where a fall can load the lifeline over an edge. Deck installers, formwork crews, and steel erectors run twin housings for 100 percent tie-off through every transition. You still need a full body harness and a rated anchor to complete the system.
Features
Leading edge rated
Cable lifeline and absorber engineered for over-the-edge loading at foot-level tie-off.
Quick-action braking
The brake grabs in inches, cutting free fall and clearance demand.
Backpack absorber
The energy absorber rides at the harness, not at the anchor - correct for LE applications.
TPV side exit handle
The lifeline exits through an ergonomic rubber handle that protects the cable at the housing.
Twin housings, light connector
Both 8 ft housings mount directly to the harness for leapfrog tie-off.
Snap hooks
Steel double-action snap hooks for D-ring and anchor connections.

Leading edge changes the math. Foot-level tie-off means more free fall, cable loading over an edge, and bigger clearance numbers than overhead anchorage - the backpack absorber and LE-rated cable exist for exactly this. Run the calculator below with your real anchor height, and rig per the Frontline manual.
Compliance Standards
ANSI Z359.14-2021
American National Standard for self-retracting devices, including leading edge (SRL-LE) requirements. Third-party test report linked in Submittals.
OSHA 29 CFR 1926 Subpart M
Federal construction fall protection requirements.
OSHA 29 CFR 1910
General industry personal fall protection requirements.
Typical Applications
How to Use the RPG082SLE
Follow the manufacturer's manual. The sequence below is an overview only.
- Inspect. Check cable, braking, housing, absorber, and hooks before each use - including a sharp-pull lock test.
- Mount to the harness. Attach both housings to the harness via the light connector per the manual.
- Anchor leg one. Connect the first hook to a rated anchor - foot-level is approved for LE work.
- Leapfrog. Connect the second leg before releasing the first - 100 percent tie-off.
- Verify clearance. Run the calculator below with foot-level anchor numbers before work begins.
Inspection and Retirement
Inspect before each use, with a documented competent-person inspection at least every 6 months. Pull the equipment from service for any of the conditions below.
- Lifeline cable: broken wires, kinks, birdcaging, corrosion, or extraction roughness.
- Braking: lifeline must lock sharply on a quick pull test.
- Housing: cracks, loose fasteners, or damaged lifeline exit handle.
- Energy absorber: deployment or torn cover.
- Hooks and swivels: deformation, corrosion, gates that fail to lock.
Retire the equipment immediately after any fall arrest event or if any inspection point fails. Destroy retired equipment so it cannot return to service.
