Warthog Pass Thru Fall Protection Kit

The Malta Dynamics Warthog Pass Thru Fall Protection Kit gives a worker everything needed to tie off safely to an existing anchorage. Each kit pairs a durable Warthog Pass Thru full body harness with a shock-absorbing lanyard and packs it all in an equipment duffle bag for easy storage and transport.

Built for everyday jobsite use, the kit is designed for comfort, OSHA and ANSI compliance, and long service life. Choose the lanyard that fits the work: a 6 foot single-leg lanyard for 100 percent tie-off at one point, or a 6 foot double-leg lanyard for continuous connection while moving between anchor points.

Who Needs This Product

This kit is for a worker who has an existing anchorage and needs the personal half of a fall arrest system - the full body harness and the connecting lanyard - in one package. It is a complete personal fall-arrest system, except for the anchor; pair it with a compatible anchorage connector rated for 5,000 lb per worker. The single-leg option suits tie-off at a fixed point; the double-leg option keeps a worker connected while repositioning between anchor points.

What Is in the Kit

Warthog Pass Thru harness

A Warthog full body harness with pass-thru chest and leg buckles, a dorsal D-ring, and adjustable straps for a secure, comfortable fit.

Shock-absorbing lanyard

A 6 foot energy-absorbing lanyard - single-leg (C5104) or double-leg (C5117) - that limits arrest forces in a fall.

Equipment duffle bag

A Malta Dynamics K1002 duffle bag keeps the harness and lanyard organized and protected between jobs.

Single or double leg

Pick a single-leg for a one-point tie-off or a double-leg for a 100 percent continuous connection while moving.

130 to 310 lb capacity

The system supports a worker weighing 130 to 310 lb, including tools and equipment.

Compliance-ready

The harness and lanyard meet OSHA 1926 Subpart M and the ANSI Z359 fall protection code.

The kit is the personal system - it still needs an anchor. This kit supplies only the harness and lanyard. You must connect to an anchorage rated for 5,000 lb per worker, verify fall clearance below the work surface before tie-off, and inspect the harness and lanyard before each use. Never use a damaged component or one that has arrested a fall.

Compliance Standards

OSHA 29 CFR 1926 Subpart M

Construction fall protection, including personal fall arrest system component requirements.

OSHA 29 CFR 1910 Subpart I

ANSI Z359.11

Full body harness standard the Warthog harness in this kit is built to.

ANSI Z359.13

Energy-absorbing lanyard standard governing the shock-absorbing lanyard in this kit.

Use Overview

Use per the Malta Dynamics user instructions for each component. The sequence below is an overview only.

  1. Inspect. Check the harness webbing, buckles, D-ring, lanyard, and energy absorber before each use.
  2. Don the harness. Put on the Warthog harness and adjust the chest, leg, and shoulder straps for a snug fit.
  3. Verify the anchor. Confirm the anchorage is rated for 5,000 lb per worker and is properly installed.
  4. Connect. Clip the lanyard to the dorsal D-ring and to the anchor - both legs for the double-leg option.
  5. Check clearance. Confirm fall clearance below the work surface for the 6-foot lanyard and its deceleration distance.
  6. Work is tied off. Stay connected; with the double-leg lanyard, keep one leg anchored while moving the other.

Inspection and Retirement

Inspect every component before each use, with a documented competent-person inspection at least every six months. Remove any component from service for the conditions below.

  • Harness webbing: cuts, frays, burns, chemical damage, or broken stitching.
  • Buckles and D-ring: cracks, corrosion, deformation, or a buckle that will not hold.
  • Lanyard: cuts, abrasion, or a deployed or torn energy absorber.
  • Snap hooks: bent gates, corrosion, or gates that do not lock.
  • Labels: must remain legible on the harness and lanyard.

Retirement triggers: any fall-arrest event immediately retires the harness and lanyard, as does deployment of an energy absorber or a cut, burn, or corrosion that compromises a load-bearing component.

Frequently Asked Questions

What comes in the Warthog Pass Thru Fall Protection Kit?
Each kit includes a Warthog Pass Thru full body harness, a 6-foot shock-absorbing lanyard, and a Malta Dynamics equipment duffle bag for storage and transport. The single-leg version pairs the harness with the C5104 lanyard; the double-leg version pairs it with the C5117 lanyard.
What is the difference between the single-leg and double-leg kit?
The single-leg kit (C5104-B2000) has one lanyard leg for tie-off at a single anchor point. The double-leg kit (C5117-B2000) has two legs so a worker stays connected at all times while moving between anchor points - one leg stays clipped while the other is repositioned.
Does the kit include an anchor?
No. The kit is the personal portion of a fall arrest system - the harness and lanyard. You must connect to an anchorage rated for 5,000 lb per worker, such as a roof anchor or a structural tie-off point (sold separately).
What worker weight does the kit support?
The system supports a worker weighing 130-310 lb, including tools and equipment. Confirm the rated capacity on each component label before use.
Is the kit OSHA and ANSI-compliant?
Yes. The harness and lanyard meet OSHA 1926 Subpart M and the ANSI Z359 fall protection code - the harness to Z359.11 and the energy-absorbing lanyard to Z359.13 - so the personal system is compliant when used with a rated anchor.
How much fall clearance does the 6-ft lanyard need?
A 6-foot shock-absorbing lanyard requires enough clearance below the work surface to accommodate the lanyard length, energy-absorber deceleration distance, the worker's height, and a safety margin. Use the Fall Protection Calculator below to confirm the total clearance for your tie-off height before working.
When do I have to retire the kit?
Retire the harness and lanyard immediately after any fall-arrest event or any time the energy absorber has deployed. Also, remove any component with cut or frayed webbing, a cracked or corroded buckle or D-ring, or a snap hook gate that no longer locks.
