Rope Grab with 4 ft Web Lanyard Assembly

The 8174MLS4 arrives ready to rig: the stainless trailing rope grab with a 4 ft web lanyard and locking snap hook already attached, so the vertical system goes together without sourcing and matching a separate connector.

The factory assembly removes the component-matching guesswork from vertical lifeline setup.

Who Needs This Product

A rope grab is only half a connection; the lanyard between grab and harness is the other half, and mismatching it changes the fall math. The MLS4 assembly ships the pairing the manufacturer intended, cutting both setup time and the chance of an improvised link in the chain.

Features

Factory-Matched Assembly

The 4 ft web lanyard and grab arrive as one engineered unit.

Trailing Action

The grab follows the worker up and down the line without hand tending.

Instant Cam Lock

Fall loading cams the grab onto the rope in inches.

Locking Snap Hook

The harness end connects with a double-action locking hook.

Two Rope Sizes

Fits 5/8 and 3/4 inch lifelines.

Stainless Steel Grab

Corrosion-proof hardware for outdoor service.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why buy the assembly instead of parts?
The grab-to-harness link is a rated component, not an accessory: the factory assembly ships the engineered pairing and removes the improvisation risk.
What rope does it fit?
5/8 and 3/4 inch lifelines, including the Miller 300L and 195R-2 ropes we stock.
How long is the connection?
The 4 ft web lanyard positions the worker at working distance from the line; account for it in fall clearance.
How does it connect?
The locking snap hook clips to the harness ring designated by the vertical system design.
Does the lanyard absorb energy?
Follow the system design in the manual for energy absorption requirements in your configuration.
Can the lanyard be replaced?
Service per the manufacturer; the assembly is the certified configuration.
How often does it need inspection?
Before each use: cam action, lanyard webbing, hook function. Competent person inspection annually.
