Titan II Positioning Harness with Side D-Rings

The Miller T4507 Titan II adds work positioning to the Titan II formula crews already trust: the same lightweight, non-stretch hi-viz polyester webbing and five points of adjustment, plus a side D-ring at each hip for connecting a positioning lanyard. Workers on rebar, poles, and steel can lean into the work with both hands free.

Certified to ANSI Z359.11 and compliant with OSHA 1926.502 and 1910.140, the T4507 supports a 420 lb maximum working load including clothing and tools. The sliding back D-ring handles fall arrest, the side D-rings handle positioning, and the Universal (L/XL) size fits the majority of workers.

S/M fits workers up to 5 ft 10 in and 170 lb, or up to 190 lb at 5 ft 6 in and under. Universal (L/XL) covers the broad middle and is the most popular size. XXL/XXXL fits workers over 6 ft who weigh over 270 lb, and any worker from 350 to 400 lb. Lighter boundary bands are overlap zones where either size fits: size down for a trim fit or up for room over layers. Some Miller spec sheets list these as Size 1 (S/M), Size 2 Universal (L/XL), and Size 3 (2XL and 3XL). Based on the manufacturer's published Miller sizing chart; verify fit per the user manual before first use.

Who Needs This Product

The T4507 is for workers who need to stop and work at a fixed point: rebar tying, formwork, pole and tower work, and steel connections. The side D-rings accept a positioning lanyard so the worker can lean back against the strap and keep both hands on the task, while the dorsal D-ring stays dedicated to the fall arrest connection. Crews that only need fall arrest can save with the T4500, and workers who want integrated padding should look at the T4577 contractor model.

Features

Side D-Rings

A steel D-ring at each hip accepts a positioning lanyard for hands-free work at a fixed location, keeping the worker stable against the structure.

Sliding Back D-Ring

The dorsal D-ring self-centers between the shoulder blades for the fall arrest connection, independent of the positioning rings.

Hi-Viz Orange Webbing

High-visibility webbing keeps workers conspicuous on active jobsites where equipment and vehicles are moving.

Non-Stretch Polyester

Lightweight polyester webbing with no built-in elastication holds its adjusted fit through the whole shift.

Tongue Leg Buckles

Belt-style tongue buckles give a positive, indexed adjustment workers can set by feel, even with gloves on.

Five Points of Adjustment

Adjustment at the chest, both shoulders, and both legs provides each worker with a custom fit.

Side D-rings are for positioning only. Connect fall arrest equipment to the back D-ring, and always back up a positioning connection with an independent fall arrest system. Rig the positioning lanyard so free fall is limited to 2 ft or less per OSHA 1926.502(e).

Compliance Standards

ANSI Z359.11

Certified to the ANSI/ASSE Z359.11 standard for full body harnesses, covering design, testing, and marking requirements.

OSHA 1926.502 and 1910.140

Meets OSHA requirements for personal fall arrest system body wear in both construction and general industry.

OSHA 1926.502(e)

The side D-rings support work positioning systems rigged to limit free fall to 2 ft, as OSHA requires for positioning device systems.

TAA Compliant

Listed as TAA compliant by the manufacturer, allowing purchase on federal projects that require Trade Agreements Act sourcing.

Typical Applications

Rebar tying and concrete formwork when the worker leans into the positioning lanyard.
Pole, tower, and steel work at fixed work points.
General construction fall arrest from the dorsal D-ring.
Roofing work when paired with a compliant anchor and connecting device.
Industrial maintenance tasks that need both hands free at height.
Crews standardizing on the Titan II line across arrest and positioning roles.

Donning Overview

  1. Hold the harness by the back D-ring and shake it out so the straps hang free without twists.
  2. Slip the shoulder straps on like a vest, keeping the webbing flat against the body.
  3. Connect the chest buckle and position the chest strap across the middle of the chest.
  4. Fasten each leg buckle so the strap allows a flat hand between the strap and the leg, but not a fist.
  5. Work through all five adjustment points until the dorsal D-ring rests between the shoulder blades, then stow the strap ends.

Full donning and adjustment instructions are in the Miller harness manual linked in the documentation section below.

Inspection and Retirement

Inspect this harness before each use, and have a competent person other than the user formally inspect it at least annually per ANSI Z359.2. Check each point below and record the results on the inspection form linked in the documentation section.

  • Webbing: cuts, frays, burns, chemical damage, UV fading, or broken stitching anywhere on the harness.
  • Hardware: D-rings and buckles for cracks, corrosion, distortion, or sharp edges.
  • Adjusters and keepers: slippage, missing keepers, or strap ends that will not stay stowed.
  • Labels: present and legible, including the size, standards, and serial information.

Retirement triggers: any fall arrest event, any webbing or hardware defect found during inspection, or any condition where the inspector cannot positively verify the harness is fit for service.

Frequently Asked Questions

What are the side D-rings on the T4507 for?
The two hip-level side D-rings accept a positioning lanyard so the worker can lean back against the strap and work hands-free at a fixed location. They are rated for work positioning only, and fall arrest always connects to the back D-ring.
What size is the T4507/UAK?
This is the Universal (L/XL) size, which fits the majority of workers. The Titan II positioning harness is also made in S/M, 2XL, and 3XL sizes; contact us if you need a size that is not shown.
What is the maximum working load?
The T4507 is rated for a 420 lb maximum working load, which includes the worker plus all clothing, tools, and equipment carried.
Can I use the T4507 for fall arrest and positioning at the same time?
Yes, and that is exactly how it is designed to be used. OSHA requires a positioning system to be backed up by an independent fall arrest connection, so the side D-rings hold the positioning lanyard while the dorsal D-ring connects to your SRL or shock absorbing lanyard.
What buckles does the T4507 use?
The chest strap closes with an interlocking mating buckle, and the leg straps use belt-style tongue buckles. Both are simple to verify visually and work with gloves on.
Is the T4507 OSHA compliant?
Yes. It is certified to ANSI Z359.11 and meets OSHA 1926.502 for construction and OSHA 1910.140 for general industry. Rigged for positioning, it satisfies OSHA 1926.502(e) when free fall is limited to 2 ft.
How often does the harness need to be inspected?
Inspect it before each use, and have a competent person inspect it at least annually per ANSI Z359.2. Retire the harness after any fall arrest event or any failed inspection.
