Super Anchor WS TrussBar Temporary Anchor for Attic and Truss Overhangs

The Super Anchor WS TrussBar is a certified anchorage device for painters and other trades working on the exterior of homes and multifamily buildings. This exclusive design installs inverted on the truss overhangs with 10 each 2.0 inch WS series wood screws that are supplied with the anchor. It adjusts for trusses centered 12, 16, and 24 inches on center with a minimum 2x4 top chord.

The trusses must be fully sheathed with bird blocking in place and fascia board installed, but exterior wall sheathing is not required. Attach the anchor, connect a vertical lifeline or self-retracting lifeline, and go to work. It is lightweight aluminum at 6.5 pounds, provides a single person tie-off, and can also serve as a permanent attic access anchor for confined space work.

The WS TrussBar is a temporary anchor for painters and exterior trades that need a certified tie-off on truss overhangs without a permanent roof anchor. How to Install the WS TrussBar

Follow the Super Anchor Safety instruction manual. The sequence below is an overview only.

  1. Confirm the structure. Verify the trusses are fully sheathed with bird blocking, fascia installed, and a minimum 22 inch overhang.
  2. Set the spacing. Adjust the bar for trusses centered 12, 16, or 24 inches on center.
  3. Fasten. Install inverted on the overhang with the 10 supplied 2.0 inch WS series screws.
  4. Connect. Attach a vertical lifeline or self-retracting lifeline, or rig 1335 or 1336 HLL cables.
  5. Verify. Confirm the anchor is secure and confirm fall clearance before use.

Inspection and Retirement

Inspect before each use, with a documented competent-person inspection at least annually. Remove the product from service for any condition below.

  • Anchor body: cracks, deformation, corrosion, or elongated holes.
  • Coating: worn or damaged galvanizing, dacromet, or powder coat at the connection point.
  • Fasteners and flashing: loose, missing, backed-out, or leaking hardware.
  • D-ring or connection point: burrs, sharp edges, or excessive wear.
  • Labels: illegible or missing product identification.

Retire the anchor immediately after any fall-arrest event, or if any inspection point fails.

Super Anchor Safety Manufacturer Warranty

Super Anchor Safety (SAS) warrants to the purchaser that all products are free from defect in material and workmanship at the time of shipment. This warranty is limited to product replacement for a period of one (1) year from the date of installation or use by the owner, provided that this period shall not exceed two (2) years from the date of shipment. This warranty only covers defects in material and workmanship. It does not cover conditions resulting from normal wear, neglect, abuse, or accident. This product warranty does not cover oxidation of zinc, dacromet, or powder coatings used on permanent and temporary anchors that results from connector abrasion unless the coating can be shown to be defective at the time of purchase. This warranty is non-transferable. Any unused defective product will be replaced at no charge by returning the product to Super Anchor Safety or to the distributor the product was purchased from.

Permanent Anchor Warranty

Super Anchor Safety warrants to the purchaser that all anchors sold as a permanent fixture with Hot Dip Galvanizing, Stainless Steel, and Thermo-Plastic finishes are fully warranted against failure due to defects in materials or workmanship for a period of five (5) years from the date of initial installation. SAS does not warranty the installation or flashing system used to waterproof the anchors. The SAS factory warranty is void if the product has been modified or has not been used in accordance with SAS specifications and instructions for that product. Anchors that have been removed from service due to re-roofing or remodel of the structure they were originally attached to must be inspected by an SAS factory representative or a competent person before being reinstalled.
