The Super Anchor Hinge-2 is a heavy duty 11 gauge steel reusable anchor that installs with nails or screws for fall arrest or fall restraint. It installs at the peak up to a 24/12 pitch, on the surface of the roof deck, or on the floor deck, and it can be installed vertically onto a wall system when fastened with Super Anchor WS series screws.

The 3013-D ships with 36 duplex nails and has dual size fastener holes for more fastening options. It has a durable Dacromet finish and adjusts from flat to a 20/12 pitch. It meets OSHA 1926.502 and ANSI Z359.18-17 Type A with a 5,000 pound minimum tensile strength for one person personal fall arrest.

How to Install the Hinge-2 Anchor

Follow the Super Anchor Safety instruction manual. The sequence below is an overview only.

  1. Position the anchor. Set the Hinge-2 at the peak, on the roof deck, floor deck, or wall per a competent-person layout.
  2. Adjust the hinge. Set the anchor to the roof pitch, flat up to 20/12.
  3. Fasten. Install with the supplied duplex nails or with WS series screws for reusable installs.
  4. Connect. Attach a harness and energy-absorbing device; keep the fall arrest angle within 30 degrees off vertical.
  5. Verify. Confirm one person per anchor and confirm fall clearance before use.

Inspection and Retirement

Inspect before each use, with a documented competent-person inspection at least annually. Remove the product from service for any condition below.

  • Anchor body: cracks, deformation, corrosion, or elongated holes.
  • Coating: worn or damaged galvanizing, dacromet, or powder coat at the connection point.
  • Fasteners and flashing: loose, missing, backed-out, or leaking hardware.
  • D-ring or connection point: burrs, sharp edges, or excessive wear.
  • Labels: illegible or missing product identification.

Retire the anchor immediately after any fall-arrest event, or if any inspection point fails.

Super Anchor Safety Manufacturer Warranty

Super Anchor Safety (SAS) warrants to the purchaser that all products are free from defect in material and workmanship at the time of shipment. This warranty is limited to product replacement for a period of one (1) year from the date of installation or use by the owner, provided that this period shall not exceed two (2) years from the date of shipment. This warranty only covers defects in material and workmanship. It does not cover conditions resulting from normal wear, neglect, abuse, or accident. This product warranty does not cover oxidation of zinc, dacromet, or powder coatings used on permanent and temporary anchors that results from connector abrasion unless the coating can be shown to be defective at the time of purchase. This warranty is non-transferable. Any unused defective product will be replaced at no charge by returning the product to Super Anchor Safety or to the distributor the product was purchased from.

Permanent Anchor Warranty

Super Anchor Safety warrants to the purchaser that all anchors sold as a permanent fixture with Hot Dip Galvanizing, Stainless Steel, and Thermo-Plastic finishes are fully warranted against failure due to defects in materials or workmanship for a period of five (5) years from the date of initial installation. SAS does not warranty the installation or flashing system used to waterproof the anchors. The SAS factory warranty is void if the product has been modified or has not been used in accordance with SAS specifications and instructions for that product. Anchors that have been removed from service due to re-roofing or remodel of the structure they were originally attached to must be inspected by an SAS factory representative or a competent person before being reinstalled.
