Tie Down 8 ft Aluminum Track Section with Splice Plates for TranzPorter and TranzVolt Hoists

The 10091 is the 8 ft aluminum track section that every TranzPorter and TranzVolt kit is built on. Each kit ships with three; add one or two more sections to take a 28 ft hoist to 36 ft or 44 ft, or keep a spare on the truck. Splice plates and pins are included.

Track over 28 ft needs the telescoping brace (60005) and, on the TranzVolt, the 44 ft synthetic cable (40674). Follow the base to building chart in the hoist manual when you add length.

Brace above 28 ft and respect the chart. Track assemblies longer than 28 ft require the telescoping brace (60005). On the TranzVolt G2, track above 36 ft also requires the 44 ft synthetic cable. Never exceed 44 ft and never climb the track.

How to Use

Follow the Tie Down instruction manual. The sequence below is an overview only.

  1. Lay out the track on the ground with the base section at the bottom.
  2. Pin the new section to the top of the run with the splice plates and hardware.
  3. Check the chart for base distance and brace location at the new height.
  4. Raise with two people and tie the top bracket to the roof.
  5. Run the carriage empty to the top once before loading.

Inspection and Retirement

Inspect before each use, with a documented competent person inspection at least annually. Remove the system from service for any of the conditions below.

  • Rails: bends, cracks or corrosion.
  • Splice plates and pins: missing, bent or loose hardware.
  • Rungs: cracked welds or deformation.
  • Roller surfaces: gouges that would catch the cam followers.
  • Labels: missing warnings.

Remove the system from service immediately after any fall arrest event and have it inspected by a competent person before it returns to use.

Frequently Asked Questions

How many sections do I need for a 44 ft eave?
A 28 ft kit has the 4 ft base and three 8 ft sections. Two more 8 ft sections take it to 44 ft, with the telescoping brace cross tied at the rungs the chart calls out.
Does it fit the TranzVolt?
Yes. The TranzVolt G2 runs on the same 8 ft track sections. Above 36 ft the TranzVolt also needs the 44 ft synthetic cable (40674).
Are splice plates included?
Yes, splice plates and pins ship with each section.
Do I need the brace?
Any track assembly over 28 ft requires the telescoping brace (60005).
Can I mix old and new track?
Current 8 ft sections pin to current TranzPorter and TranzVolt track. Call us with your hoist model and year if it predates the current splice plate design.
How is it shipped?
Sections ship by parcel or LTL depending on quantity; ordered with a hoist kit they ride on the same pallet.
Is there a 4 ft section?
Yes. The 4 ft base track (40659) is the bottom section of the TranzVolt system; the TranzPorter kits include their own 4 ft base.

Return the defective unit to the dealer or contact Tie Down for repair or replacement at Tie Down's discretion. The warranty does not cover damage from misuse, alteration, or failure to follow the instruction manual.
