Who Needs This Product

Residential and commercial roofers buy a complete roofer's kit because it puts the whole rooftop fall arrest system in one box: harness, hinged reusable roof anchor, 50 ft vertical lifeline, and the rope-grab lanyard that ties them together. The hinged anchor nails to the structure and works both sides of the ridge, and the trailing versions follow the worker without manual repositioning.

The anchor goes into structure, not just sheathing. Nail the hinged anchor per the FallTech instructions into the framing at the ridge, keep slack out of the lifeline, and verify fall clearance for the pitch you are working. Retire the anchor after any fall arrest loading.

How to Use

Follow the FallTech instruction manual. The sequence below is an overview only.

  1. Set the anchor. Nail the 7410 hinged anchor at the ridge per the instructions, hinged over the peak where needed.
  2. Rig the lifeline. Connect the 50 ft vertical lifeline to the anchor and drop it down the work face.
  3. Don the harness. Adjust leg and chest buckles; the dorsal D-ring sits between the shoulder blades.
  4. Connect the rope adjuster. Attach the lanyard's rope adjuster to the lifeline; trailing models follow as you work, manual models reposition by hand.
  5. Work the face. Keep slack out of the system and re-verify the anchor when moving planes.

Inspection and Retirement

Inspect every component before each use, with a documented competent person inspection at least annually.

  • Anchor: bent straps, cracks, and fastener hole wear.
  • Lifeline: cuts, abrasion, glazing, and end termination condition.
  • Rope adjuster: engages and locks on the line; anti-panic function (where fitted) operates.
  • Harness and lanyard: webbing, stitching, hardware, and absorber pack.
  • Labels: legible on all components.

Retirement triggers: any fall arrest event, deployed absorber, damaged rope or webbing, or a failed inspection. Nail-on anchors are reusable per the manual but retire with structural damage.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is in the roofer's kit?
The complete rooftop system: full-body harness, 7410 hinged reusable roof anchor, 50 ft vertical lifeline, and an energy absorbing lanyard with an integrated rope adjuster. Every component is listed with its part number in the spec table.
How does the hinged anchor work?
The 7410 nails through the roof sheathing into structure at the ridge. The hinge lets it fold over the peak so one anchor serves both roof planes, and it removes and reuses per the manual.
What is the difference between manual and trailing rope adjusters?
A manual adjuster stays where you set it on the lifeline and repositions by hand. A trailing adjuster follows you down the roof automatically, keeping slack out of the system without touching it, which is what you want on production roofing.
What roof pitch does this cover?
Rope grab systems on a vertical lifeline are the standard for steep-slope work; verify your pitch and application against the component manuals. On low-slope roofs check warning line and monitor requirements under OSHA 1926.502.
How long will the anchor last?
The 7410 is reusable across jobs per the manual. Inspect it before each use for bent straps and worn fastener holes, and retire it after any fall arrest loading.
