  3. Wrap the structure. Pass the anchor around the beam, column, or member in the approved configuration.
  4. Connect. Attach your SRL or energy-absorbing lanyard to the anchor connection point.

Inspection and Retirement

Inspect before each use, with a documented competent-person inspection at least annually. Remove the anchor from service for any of the conditions below.

  • Webbing: cuts, frays, pulls, burns, chemical damage, or heavy abrasion.
  • Stitching: broken, cut, or worn stitches at the loops and D-ring.
  • Hardware (D-ring or thimble): deformation, sharp edges, cracks, or corrosion.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is a choke-on cinch-loop anchor?
You pass the web end through the cinch loop and pull it tight, so the anchor chokes onto the beam or column and holds itself in place.
What lengths are available?
This anchor comes in 2', 3', 4', 6'. Pick a length that wraps your structure with the connection point clear.
How is it different from a pass-through sling?
A choker cinches down tight on the member with a single loop, while a pass-through sling uses a D-ring end passed through a loop; both create a secure wrap anchor.
What is the rated strength and capacity?
It has a minimum breaking strength of 5,000 lb (22.2 kN) and is certified to ANSI Z359.18-2017 for one worker up to 310 lb.
Is it certified for Canada?
Yes. The HD web choker is certified to both ANSI Z359.18-2017 and CSA.
Can I use it over a sharp edge?
Not directly. Web slings can be cut. Use edge protection and confirm the structure is free of sharp, jagged, or abrasive edges.
Can it be reused after a fall?
No. Remove the anchor from service immediately after any fall-arrest event and destroy it so it cannot be reused.
