Who Needs This Product
Line workers climbing wood poles use the APEX Pro wood pole fall restrict device as the positioning and fall restrict system that stays engaged through every step of the climb. The articulating strap adjuster conforms to any pole shape while maintaining contact, and the horizontal rope adjuster works with a gloved hand, wet, dry, or iced. It is built for distribution and transmission climbing all day, every day.

Complies
Complies with CSA Z259.14-12 (R2021) Type AB and ASTM F887-20 Type AB.
Fall restrict is not fall arrest. A wood pole fall restrict device keeps a gaffed climber on the pole; it is not an arrest system for free fall. Use it with a compliant lineman body belt per ASTM F887 and your utility's work rules, and keep it engaged through the whole climb.

Standard specification for personal climbing equipment used by line workers, including wood pole fall restrict devices and body belts.
Typical Applications
How to Use
Follow the FallTech instruction manual. The sequence below is an overview only.
- Rig to the belt. Connect the device to both D-rings of a lineman body belt per the manual.
- Set the strap. Wrap the pole; the articulating strap adjuster conforms to the pole and holds position.
- Climb with contact. Advance the device up the pole as you climb, keeping it engaged through each gaff step.
- Adjust one-handed. The thumb release levers on both adjusters give infinite adjustment with a gloved hand.
- Position and work. Lean back into the system; the device restricts a fall along the pole while both hands work.
Inspection and Retirement
Inspect before each use, with a documented competent person inspection at least annually per ASTM F887 practice.
- Rope: cuts, abrasion, glazing, and diameter loss.
- Strap: cuts, fraying, and adjuster teeth condition.
- Adjusters: thumb releases operate and lock; no cracks.
- Snap hook: gate and lock function; no deformation.
- Magnetic tail keeper: present and holding the tail.
Retirement triggers: any fall loading, rope or strap damage, or adjuster malfunction.
