Installation must follow the Guardian ladder gate instruction sheet (1600217). The sequence below is an overview only.
- Inspect first. Check the gate, hinges, and spring mechanism for damage before installation.
- Install the extension. Mount the Guardian 10800 Safe-T Ladder Extension to the ladder per its manual.
- Mount the gate. Attach the 10798 to the extension per the instruction sheet.
- Verify the swing. Confirm the gate opens in the intended direction and self-closes fully every time.
- Check the fit. Confirm the closed gate spans the opening with no gaps a worker could back through.
- Re-verify daily. Test the self-closing action at the start of each work period.
