Beamer 2000 Pivoting Beam Anchor, 3.5 to 14 in Flanges

The Guardian 00101 Beamer 2000 is the classic steel-erection beam anchor: a pivoting anchorage connector that clamps flanges from 3.5 to 14 in wide and follows the worker as the connection angle changes, keeping the load aligned instead of side-loading the hook. Adjustment is fast and tool-free, and the anchor moves along the beam with the work.

Rated for one worker at 130 to 310 lbs including tools, it meets OSHA 1926.502 and 1910.140 as the anchorage connector in a personal fall arrest system, with the full documentation linked below.

Who Needs This Product

The Beamer 2000 belongs on every steel crew that ties off to structural flanges: it installs in seconds at the point of work, pivots with the worker to prevent side loading, and moves down the beam as the work advances. Pair it with an SRL for taut-line protection or a shock absorbing lanyard where clearance allows. For thicker flanges and heavy structural sections, step up to the Beamer 2003 or the BBC large beam clamps.

Installation Overview

Installation must follow the Guardian instruction manual for this anchor. The sequence below is an overview only.

  1. Inspect first. Check the anchor body, connection point, and hardware before every installation.
  2. Verify the structure. The supporting structure must meet the strength requirements in the instruction manual.
  3. Install per the manual. Follow the substrate, fastener, and orientation requirements exactly; fill every required fastener position.
  4. Verify the connection. Confirm the anchor is fully seated and the connection point is accessible and undamaged.
  5. Connect the system. Attach a compatible connecting device and verify the complete personal fall arrest system with a competent person.
  6. Check clearance. Confirm fall clearance below the work area and minimize swing fall hazards before work begins.

Inspection and Retirement

Inspect before every use, and have a competent person perform a documented inspection at least every six months under ANSI Z359.2 practice. Remove the anchor from service for any of the conditions below.

  • Cracks, corrosion, or deformation of the body, connection point, or welds.
  • Loose, missing, damaged, or worn hardware and fasteners.
  • Elongation or wear at the D-ring or connection eye.
  • Missing or illegible labels.
  • Any evidence the anchor has arrested a fall.

Retirement triggers: any fall event on the anchor, or any condition where the inspector cannot positively verify it is fit for service.

Frequently Asked Questions

What beam sizes does the Beamer 2000 fit?
The Beamer 2000 adjusts to structural flanges from 3.5 to 14 in wide within the thickness limits in the manual, covering the most common wide-flange sections on commercial jobs. Verify your flange dimensions against the manual before ordering.
Why does the pivoting design matter?
When a worker moves along or below a beam, a fixed anchor point can side-load the hook, one of the classic failure modes in fall protection. The Beamer pivots to follow the worker, keeping the load aligned with the connector gate the way the hardware is rated.
How does the Beamer 2000 differ from the Beamer 2003?
The 2000 is the standard-flange pivoting anchor for 3.5 to 14 in beams; the 2003 clamps 6 to 16 in beams up to 1.25 in thick for heavier structural sections. Both are single-worker anchorage connectors.
Which standards does this product meet?
It is compliant with OSHA 1910.140, OSHA 1926.502, ANSI Z359.18-2017 when used within a complete, competent-person verified fall protection system, and Guardian products are tested in an ISO 17025 accredited laboratory.
What is the rated capacity?
The rated worker capacity is 130-420 lbs., including all clothing, tools, and equipment carried by the worker.
When should this product be retired?
Retire it after any fall event, any failed inspection item, or whenever an inspector cannot positively verify it is fit for service. The inspection criteria in the linked documentation define the pass-fail conditions.
Is documentation available for submittal packages?
Yes. The manufacturer documentation linked on this page covers installation, specifications, and compliance, and every file is hosted on our site for direct download into your submittal package.
