Beamer 2003 Beam Anchor, 6 to 16 in Flanges to 1.25 in Thick

The Guardian 00103 Beamer 2003 takes the pivoting Beamer concept to heavier structure: flanges from 6 to 16 in wide and up to 1.25 in thick. The anchor clamps positively to the flange, pivots with the worker to keep loads aligned, and repositions along the beam without tools.

Rated for one worker at 130 to 310 lbs including tools, it meets OSHA 1926.502 and 1910.140 as the anchorage connector in a personal fall arrest system, with the full documentation linked below.

Who Needs This Product

The 2003 is the Beamer for bridge sections, crane rails, and heavy commercial steel where flanges outgrow the standard anchor. Erectors and inspectors clamp it at the point of work, tie off with an SRL or lanyard, and slide it along as the work advances. For standard wide-flange sections, the Beamer 2000 saves weight; for the biggest beams, the BBC clamps reach 24 in.

Features

Easy Adjustment

Oversized locking lever offers positive grip and precise adjustment even with gloved hands

Bronze-Manganese Hooks

Long-wearing hooks slide easily along beam and resist slag or other contaminants

Fits Wide Range of Beams

Two models to fit beams widths from 6” to 16” with flanges up to 1 ¼” thick

Nylon Bushings

Enables smooth movement of D-ring along main bar beam and acts as an impact indicator in the event of a fall

Pivoting D-ring

Pivots as user works to keep D-ring in optimal orientation

Jobsite-grade construction

Built with the materials and finish quality Guardian applies across its height safety line.

Installation Overview

Installation must follow the Guardian instruction manual for this anchor. The sequence below is an overview only.

  1. Inspect first. Check the anchor body, connection point, and hardware before every installation.
  2. Verify the structure. The supporting structure must meet the strength requirements in the instruction manual.
  3. Install per the manual. Follow the substrate, fastener, and orientation requirements exactly; fill every required fastener position.
  4. Verify the connection. Confirm the anchor is fully seated and the connection point is accessible and undamaged.
  5. Connect the system. Attach a compatible connecting device and verify the complete personal fall arrest system with a competent person.
  6. Check clearance. Confirm fall clearance below the work area and minimize swing fall hazards before work begins.

Inspection and Retirement

Inspect before every use, and have a competent person perform a documented inspection at least every six months under ANSI Z359.2 practice. Remove the anchor from service for any of the conditions below.

  • Cracks, corrosion, or deformation of the body, connection point, or welds.
  • Loose, missing, damaged, or worn hardware and fasteners.
  • Elongation or wear at the D-ring or connection eye.
  • Missing or illegible labels.
  • Any evidence the anchor has arrested a fall.

Retirement triggers: any fall event on the anchor, or any condition where the inspector cannot positively verify it is fit for service.

Frequently Asked Questions

What beam sizes does the Beamer 2003 fit?
The 2003 clamps flanges from 6 to 16 in wide and up to 1.25 in thick, which covers heavy structural sections that outgrow standard beam anchors. Verify your flange dimensions against the manual before ordering.
Can the anchor move along the beam during work?
Yes. The Beamer repositions along the flange without tools, so the tie-off point advances with the work instead of the worker extending a lanyard past its safe geometry.
What connecting device should I pair with it?
An SRL keeps the line taut and the fall distance short, which suits most beam work; a shock absorbing lanyard works where fall clearance below the beam allows. Run either setup through the fall protection calculator on this page.
Which standards does this product meet?
It is compliant with OSHA 1910.140, OSHA 1926.502, ANSI Z359.18-2017 when used within a complete, competent-person verified fall protection system, and Guardian products are tested in an ISO 17025 accredited laboratory.
What is the rated capacity?
The rated worker capacity is 130-420 lbs., including all clothing, tools, and equipment carried by the worker.
When should this product be retired?
Retire it after any fall event, any failed inspection item, or whenever an inspector cannot positively verify it is fit for service. The inspection criteria in the linked documentation define the pass-fail conditions.
Is documentation available for submittal packages?
Yes. The manufacturer documentation linked on this page covers installation, specifications, and compliance, and every file is hosted on our site for direct download into your submittal package.
