Concrete Anchor Strap with D-Ring

The Guardian concrete anchor strap wraps rebar and structure into a soft, rated tie-off point: webbing construction with a D-ring connection, in 3 ft (10705), sheathed 4 ft (10715), and sheathed 6 ft (10717) lengths. The sheathed versions armor the webbing against the abrasion concrete work dishes out.

Each strap serves one worker under OSHA 1926.502 and 1910.140, rigged per the wrap configurations in the manual. Sold in multi-unit packs sized for crews.

Who Needs This Product

Formwork and rebar crews burn through anchor straps, which is why these sell in packs: wrapped around rebar cages, columns, and formwork members per the manual, the strap is often the only anchorage geometry that fits the work. Sheathing on the 4 and 6 ft versions takes the abrasion that kills bare webbing on concrete. Inspect hard and retire without sentiment; straps are consumables.

Installation Overview

Installation must follow the Guardian instruction manual for this anchor. The sequence below is an overview only.

  1. Inspect first. Check the anchor body, connection point, and hardware before every installation.
  2. Verify the structure. The supporting structure must meet the strength requirements in the instruction manual.
  3. Install per the manual. Follow the substrate, fastener, and orientation requirements exactly; fill every required fastener position.
  4. Verify the connection. Confirm the anchor is fully seated and the connection point is accessible and undamaged.
  5. Connect the system. Attach a compatible connecting device and verify the complete personal fall arrest system with a competent person.
  6. Check clearance. Confirm fall clearance below the work area and minimize swing fall hazards before work begins.

Inspection and Retirement

Inspect before every use, and have a competent person perform a documented inspection at least every six months under ANSI Z359.2 practice. Remove the anchor from service for any of the conditions below.

  • Cracks, corrosion, or deformation of the body, connection point, or welds.
  • Loose, missing, damaged, or worn hardware and fasteners.
  • Elongation or wear at the D-ring or connection eye.
  • Missing or illegible labels.
  • Any evidence the anchor has arrested a fall.

Retirement triggers: any fall event on the anchor, or any condition where the inspector cannot positively verify it is fit for service.

Frequently Asked Questions

Which length should I choose?
Match the member you wrap: 3 ft (10705) for rebar and small members, 4 ft (10715) and 6 ft (10717) sheathed versions for columns and formwork where abrasion resistance matters. All three connect through a D-ring per the manual wrap configurations.
What does the sheath do?
The sheath armors the webbing against concrete and rebar abrasion, the wear mode that retires most anchor straps. The 3 ft white strap trades the sheath for visibility and economy on lighter duty.
How often should anchor straps be replaced?
Inspect before every use for cuts, fraying, chemical damage, and sheath wear-through, and retire on any failure or fall event. High-abrasion concrete work retires straps on cycles measured in months, which the pack format anticipates.
What options does the Guardian Concrete Anchor Strap come in?
Stocked options: 3 ft, white with D-ring (10705-5PK, $94.90); 4 ft, sheathed with web loop and D-ring (10715-5PK, $88.70); 6 ft, sheathed with web loop and D-ring (10717-4PK, $95.28). Every option carries the same Guardian lifetime warranty and ships in 1 business day.
Which standards does this product meet?
It is compliant with OSHA 1910.140, OSHA 1926.502, ANSI Z359.18 when used within a complete, competent-person verified fall protection system, and Guardian products are tested in an ISO 17025 accredited laboratory.
What is the rated capacity?
The rated worker capacity is 130-420 lbs., including all clothing, tools, and equipment carried by the worker.
When should this product be retired?
Retire it after any fall event, any failed inspection item, or whenever an inspector cannot positively verify it is fit for service. The inspection criteria in the linked documentation define the pass-fail conditions.
