BBC Large Beam Clamp, 8 to 24 in Flanges
The Guardian BBC large beam clamps anchor where standard beam anchors give up: the BBC 18-4 (00127) spans flanges from 8 to 18 in up to 4 in thick, and the BBC 24-2 (00130) reaches 12 to 24 in flanges up to 2.5 in thick. Both clamp positively to the flange and present a D-ring anchorage for one worker.
Rated at 130 to 310 lbs including tools, the BBC clamps meet OSHA 1926.502 and 1910.140 as anchorage connectors in a personal fall arrest system, with full documentation linked below.
Who Needs This Product
BBC clamps live on bridge rehabs, plate girders, and industrial crane rails, the structure standard anchors cannot bite. Choose by your flange: the 18-4 for very thick flanges to 4 in, the 24-2 for the widest sections to 24 in. Each clamp anchors one worker; pair with an SRL for short fall distances over structure.

Typical Applications
Installation Overview
Installation must follow the Guardian instruction manual for this anchor. The sequence below is an overview only.
- Inspect first. Check the anchor body, connection point, and hardware before every installation.
- Verify the structure. The supporting structure must meet the strength requirements in the instruction manual.
- Install per the manual. Follow the substrate, fastener, and orientation requirements exactly; fill every required fastener position.
- Verify the connection. Confirm the anchor is fully seated and the connection point is accessible and undamaged.
- Connect the system. Attach a compatible connecting device and verify the complete personal fall arrest system with a competent person.
- Check clearance. Confirm fall clearance below the work area and minimize swing fall hazards before work begins.
Inspection and Retirement
Inspect before every use, and have a competent person perform a documented inspection at least every six months under ANSI Z359.2 practice. Remove the anchor from service for any of the conditions below.
- Cracks, corrosion, or deformation of the body, connection point, or welds.
- Loose, missing, damaged, or worn hardware and fasteners.
- Elongation or wear at the D-ring or connection eye.
- Missing or illegible labels.
- Any evidence the anchor has arrested a fall.
Retirement triggers: any fall event on the anchor, or any condition where the inspector cannot positively verify it is fit for service.
