FallTech 7533 Trailing Beam Clamp Anchor with Dual-Clamp Adjustment

The FallTech 7533 is a reusable trailing beam clamp anchor that grips a structural I-beam or H-beam flange to create a rated tie-off point without drilling or welding. It trails along the beam with the worker for a continuous overhead connection.

The all-steel beam clamp uses dual-clamp adjustment to fit flanges from 3.5 in to 12 in wide and up to 1 in thick, with a swiveling D-ring for the connecting device. Certified to ANSI Z359.18-2017 with 5,000 lb (22.2 kN) anchorage strength.

Who Needs This Product

This product is a beam clamp anchor, the anchorage component of a personal fall arrest system. Steel and structural crews clamp it to an I-beam flange to create a rated tie-off point, then connect an SRL or energy-absorbing lanyard. You still need a certified full-body harness and a compatible connecting device to complete the system.

Features

No drilling or welding

Clamps to the beam flange for a reusable, damage-free anchor point.

Trailing mobility

Slides along the beam so the tie-off stays overhead as you move.

Dual-clamp adjustment

Tightens from both sides to fit a range of flange widths securely.

All-steel construction

Durable steel beam clamp built for repeated jobsite use.

Swiveling D-ring

Stays centered under load to reduce twist on the connector.

ANSI Z359.18-2017

Certified 5,000 lb (22.2 kN) single-worker anchorage.

Install tight to the flange and check the jaw gap. Both jaws must be fully over the flange with the D-ring centered. The gap between the beam flange and the jaw must not exceed 1/2 in; if it does, tighten the anchor further. Use only on rated horizontal beams and confirm fall clearance and swing-fall with the Fall Protection Calculator below.

Compliance Standards

ANSI Z359.18-2017

American National Standard for anchorage connectors. 5,000 lb (22.2 kN) strength.

OSHA 29 CFR 1926.502

Federal construction fall protection anchorage requirements.

OSHA 29 CFR 1910

General industry personal fall protection requirements.

5,000 lb rated

Anchorage strength of 5,000 lb (22.2 kN) per attached worker.

Typical Applications

How to Install the 7533

Follow the FallTech instruction manual. The sequence below is an overview only.

  1. Inspect. Check the body, jaws, threads, and D-ring for damage or corrosion before each use.
  2. Position. Place the anchor over the beam flange in an approved orientation.
  3. Clamp. Adjust until the anchor is tight to the flange and the connector is centered.
  4. Verify the gap. Confirm the flange-to-jaw gap is within the manual limit; tighten further if needed.
  5. Connect and check clearance. Attach your SRL or lanyard, then confirm fall clearance and swing-fall with the calculator below.

Inspection and Retirement

Inspect before each use, with a documented competent-person inspection at least annually. Remove the anchor from service for any of the conditions below.

  • Crossbar, jaws, or clamp body: cracks, bending, deformation, or corrosion.
  • Threads and adjustment: damaged threads or an adjustment that will not hold.
  • D-ring or connector: deformation, sharp edges, corrosion, or a swivel that binds.
  • Markings: illegible or missing labels.

Remove the anchor from service immediately after any fall-arrest event, and destroy retired equipment so it cannot return to service.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does the 7533 require drilling or welding?
No. It clamps directly to the beam flange, installing and removing without drilling, welding, or damaging the structure.
What is a trailing beam clamp anchor?
It slides along the beam flange with the worker, keeping the tie-off point overhead as you move instead of re-anchoring repeatedly.
What is the rated strength and capacity?
Certified to ANSI Z359.18-2017 with 5,000 lb (22.2 kN) strength, for one worker up to 310 lb for ANSI compliance and 425 lb for OSHA compliance.
What beams does it fit?
It fits I-beam and H-beam flanges from 3.5 in to 12 in wide and up to 1 in thick. The beam must not be open-ended, or it must have end stops.
How do I know it is installed correctly?
Both jaws must be fully over the flange, the anchor tight, the D-ring centered, and the flange-to-jaw gap no more than 1/2 in.
What do I connect to it?
Connect a compatible self-retracting lifeline or energy-absorbing lanyard to the swiveling D-ring, used with a certified full-body harness.
Can it be reused after a fall?
No. Remove the anchor from service immediately after any fall-arrest event and destroy it so it cannot be reused.
