Malta Dynamics 4-Point Ratchet Full Brim Hard Hat
The Malta Dynamics full-brim hard hat surrounds the head with a 360-degree brim that sheds sun, rain, and falling debris, while a 4-point ratchet suspension dials in a secure, all-day fit. It is built and tested to ANSI Z89.1 Type 1 Class E, with electrical insulation up to 20,000 volts for utility and construction crews.
A rugged, lightweight polyethylene shell keeps the hat durable without added bulk, and cushion pillows plus a nape cushion pad the contact points for extended wear. Available in eight colors and made in the USA in an ISO 9001 registered facility, it is sold here in multi-unit color packs to outfit a crew.

Who Needs This Product
This full brim hard hat is head protection for crews who want all-around coverage from the sun and overhead hazards in addition to top-impact protection. The 360-degree brim shades the face and neck and channels rain away from the collar, while the Class E rating adds dielectric protection against accidental contact with energized conductors up to 20,000 volts. It is sold in multi-unit color packs so a crew can be outfitted from one order.

A hard hat protects only when it is worn correctly and undamaged. Keep the suspension installed and properly adjusted, never carry items between the shell and suspension, and never drill, paint, or modify the shell. Replace any hard hat that has taken an impact, shows cracks or chalking, or has reached the manufacturer's service life, and store it away from heat and direct sunlight per the manual.
Compliance Standards
ANSI Z89.1 Type 1
American National Standard for industrial head protection; Type 1 helmets reduce force from top impact.
ANSI Z89.1 Class E

General industry head protection requirements under 1910.135.
Typical Applications
Fit and Wear Overview
Set up and wear per the Malta Dynamics assembly instructions. The sequence below is an overview only.
- Inspect. Check the shell, brim, and suspension for cracks, chalking, or damage before each use.
- Install the suspension. Seat all four suspension points fully into the shell per the instructions.
- Set the height. Adjust the front and rear vertical height so the hat sits level and clears the head.
- Dial the fit. Turn the ratchet to snug the headband for a secure, comfortable fit.
- Wear correctly. Wear the hard hat with the brim forward for full perimeter coverage.
- Store properly. Keep the hard hat out of direct sunlight and away from heat between uses.
Inspection and Replacement
Inspect the hard hat before each use and remove it from service if any of the conditions below are present.
- Shell or brim: cracks, dents, gouges, chalking, or a dull, brittle surface.
- Suspension: frayed straps, broken keys, a worn ratchet, or any loose attachment point.
- Impact: any hard hat that has taken a blow or dropped a heavy object, even with no visible damage.
- Chemical or heat exposure that has stiffened, faded, or warped the shell or brim.
- Service life: replace per the manufacturer's stated shell and suspension service life.
Replace the suspension and shell on the schedule in the manual, and retire any hard hat after an impact or when it reaches the end of its service life.
