Cross-Arm Strap with D-Ring and Web Loop

The 8185 does the wrap-and-choke with a web loop instead of a second D-ring: pass the D-ring end through the loop, cinch onto the member, and clip in. The 3 ft length suits purlins, pipe, and standard structural members.

Built for portable, reusable temporary anchorage compatible with most fall protection systems, at the value end of the anchor strap range.

Who Needs This Product

The loop-style strap is the economical everyday anchor for crews that wrap the same size members all day: one fewer forging keeps cost down while the wrap-and-choke performance stays identical. Other lengths and the two-D-ring 8183 cover members outside the 3 ft wrap range.

Features

Loop-and-Choke Design

Pass the D-ring end through the web loop and cinch; the strap grips the member under load.

Rugged Webbing

Durable webbing built for repeated wraps on rough steel and concrete.

Integral D-Ring

The forged D-ring gives the connecting device a proper interface.

Portable and Reusable

Installs, moves, and reinstalls all day without tools.

Wrap-Around Fit

Adapts to beams and structural members within the wrap range.

System Compatible

Accepts snap hooks and carabiners from any compliant system.

Frequently Asked Questions

How is the 8185 different from the 8183?
The 8185 chokes through a sewn web loop instead of a second D-ring: same wrap-and-choke anchor, one less forging, lower cost.
What members does a 3 ft strap wrap?
Members up to roughly 10 inches across, leaving enough tail to choke properly: purlins, pipe, and standard beams.
What structure can it wrap?
Any member meeting the OSHA 5,000 lb anchorage requirement. Pad sharp edges before wrapping.
Is it reusable?
Yes. It is a temporary, reusable anchorage connector; inspect before every installation.
What connects to the D-ring?
Snap hooks and carabiners from lanyards and SRLs, one personal fall arrest system per anchor.
Are other lengths available?
The vendor makes 2 through 6 ft versions; the 3 ft ships from stock. Contact us for other lengths.
How often does it need inspection?
Before each use, plus documented competent person inspection at least annually.
