Ms. Miller Women's Full Body Harness

The Ms. Miller E570 is engineered specifically for female workers instead of being a smaller version of a men's harness: shoulder straps are positioned away from the chest, the hip support is shaped for a woman's frame, and the patented elastomer webbing stretches and conforms to the body so the harness moves with the worker instead of bunching or binding.

Certified to ANSI Z359.11 and compliant with OSHA fall protection requirements, the E570 supports workers up to 400 lb with five points of adjustment and mating-style buckles at the chest and legs.

S/M fits workers up to 5 ft 10 in and 170 lb, or up to 190 lb at 5 ft 6 in and under. Universal (L/XL) covers the broad middle and is the most popular size. XXL/XXXL fits workers over 6 ft who weigh over 270 lb, and any worker from 350 to 400 lb. Lighter boundary bands are overlap zones where either size fits: size down for a trim fit or up for room over layers. Some Miller spec sheets list these as Size 1 (S/M), Size 2 Universal (L/XL), and Size 3 (2XL and 3XL). Based on the manufacturer's published Miller sizing chart; verify fit per the user manual before first use.

Who Needs This Product

The E570 is for crews that outfit women with equipment that actually fits. A standard unisex harness rides on pressure points, binds across the chest, and needs constant readjustment on many female workers; the E570 repositions the shoulder straps, reshapes the hip support, and adds stretch to the webbing itself. The result is a harness women keep properly buckled and adjusted all shift, which is what makes fall protection work.

Features

Female-Specific Ergonomics

Shoulder straps are positioned away from the chest and the hip support is shaped for a woman's frame, eliminating the pressure points of unisex designs.

Elastomer Stretch Webbing

Patented webbing stretches and conforms to the body, moving with the worker and eliminating bunching and binding.

Back D-Rings

The dorsal D-ring provides the fall arrest connection, positioned between the shoulder blades.

Mating-Style Buckles

Interlocking buckles at the chest and legs seat positively, verify at a glance, and work with gloves on.

Five Points of Adjustment

Adjustment at the chest, both shoulders, and both legs delivers a precise fit across the size range.

Reduced Fatigue

Less pressure and binding means less end-of-shift fatigue and better compliance with wearing the harness correctly.

Fit is the whole point. Adjust all five points so the dorsal D-ring sits between the shoulder blades and the chest strap crosses mid-chest without binding. A harness that has arrested a fall is done: remove it from service immediately.

Compliance Standards

ANSI Z359.11

Certified to the ANSI/ASSE Z359.11 standard for full body harnesses, covering design, testing, and marking requirements.

OSHA 1926.502 and 1910.140

Meets OSHA requirements for personal fall arrest system body wear in both construction and general industry.

TAA Compliant

Listed as TAA compliant by the manufacturer, allowing purchase on federal projects that require Trade Agreements Act sourcing.

Typical Applications

Outfitting female workers in construction, energy, and industrial trades.
Safety programs replacing poorly fitting unisex harnesses to improve compliance.
Roofing work when paired with a compliant anchor and connecting device.
Maintenance and inspection teams with mixed crews standardizing on proper fit.
Tower, scaffold, and mezzanine work with overhead or dorsal tie-off points.
Any at-height role where all-day comfort decides whether the harness stays adjusted.

Donning Overview

  1. Hold the harness by the back D-ring and shake it out so the straps hang free without twists.
  2. Slip the shoulder straps on like a vest, keeping the webbing flat against the body.
  3. Connect the chest buckle and position the chest strap across the middle of the chest.
  4. Fasten each leg buckle so the strap allows a flat hand between the strap and the leg, but not a fist.
  5. Work through all five adjustment points until the dorsal D-ring rests between the shoulder blades, then stow the strap ends.

Full donning and adjustment instructions are in the Miller harness manual linked in the documentation section below.

Inspection and Retirement

Inspect this harness before each use, and have a competent person other than the user formally inspect it at least annually per ANSI Z359.2. Check each point below and record the results on the inspection form linked in the documentation section.

  • Webbing: cuts, frays, burns, chemical damage, UV fading, or broken stitching anywhere on the harness.
  • Hardware: D-rings and buckles for cracks, corrosion, distortion, or sharp edges.
  • Adjusters and keepers: slippage, missing keepers, or strap ends that will not stay stowed.
  • Labels: present and legible, including the size, standards, and serial information.

Retirement triggers: any fall arrest event, any webbing or hardware defect found during inspection, or any condition where the inspector cannot positively verify the harness is fit for service.

Frequently Asked Questions

How is the E570 different from a small unisex harness?
It is engineered for a woman's frame from the start: shoulder straps route away from the chest, the hip support is reshaped, and the elastomer webbing stretches with the body. A small unisex harness only changes the strap lengths.
What sizes does the E570 come in?
This page stocks S/M and L/XL. The vendor also makes an XS/XXS size; contact us for availability.
What is the maximum working load?
The E570 is rated for workers up to 400 lb including clothing, tools, and equipment. Note this is slightly lower than the 420 lb rating of some Miller harnesses; confirm your connecting device rating matches.
What is elastomer stretch webbing?
The webbing itself has a patented elastomer construction that stretches slightly and conforms to the body, so the harness moves with the worker instead of bunching, binding, or riding on pressure points.
Does a better-fitting harness actually improve safety?
Yes. A harness that binds gets loosened, unbuckled, or worn incorrectly, and an incorrectly worn harness does not perform in a fall. Fit drives compliance, and compliance drives protection.
Is the E570 OSHA compliant?
Yes. It is certified to ANSI Z359.11 and meets OSHA 1926.502 for construction and OSHA 1910.140 for general industry when used as part of a complete personal fall arrest system.
How often does the harness need to be inspected?
Inspect it before each use, and have a competent person inspect it at least annually per ANSI Z359.2. Retire the harness after any fall arrest event or any failed inspection.
