Super Anchor ARS Permanent Roof Anchor for Standing Seam and Corrugated Metal Roofing

The Super Anchor ARS metal roofing anchor pairs the proven ARS 2x8 and 2x4 anchor bodies with a purpose built EPDM metal roof flashing so you can tie off permanently on standing seam and corrugated metal roofs. Choose the anchor that matches your top chord: the 1006 2x8 in 14 gauge stainless, the 1006D 2x8 in 11 gauge Dacromet coated steel, or the 1022 2x4 with a 6.5 inch stem.

The EPDM base flashing is 8 by 8 inches with a 3 inch stem, has an aluminum reinforced edge, and includes ribs to accept butyl sealant so it conforms to different roof profiles for a weather tight fit. The anchor meets OSHA 1926.502 and ANSI Z359.18-17 Type D with a 5,000 pound minimum breaking strength.

This product is sold as a 3-pack.

Who Needs This Product

The ARS metal roofing anchor is a permanent fall arrest anchor for roofers and service trades working on standing seam and corrugated metal roofs. Pick the gauge and stem that match your framing and roof profile. Complete the system with a full-body harness, a connecting device, and a competent-person layout.

Features

Built for metal roofs

The EPDM base flashing seals the ARS anchor on standing seam and corrugated metal roofing.

Three anchor options

1006 2x8 14 gauge stainless, 1006D 2x8 11 gauge Dacromet, and 1022 2x4 with a 6.5 inch stem.

Conforms to roof profiles

The aluminum reinforced EPDM base flexes to different metal panel profiles for a weather tight fit.

Butyl ready base

Ribs on the bottom of the flashing accept butyl sealant for a durable seal.

Paintable finish

The flashing can be painted with latex to match the roof color.

5,000 lb rated

All ARS anchors carry a 5,000 lb minimum breaking strength.

This anchor is a fall arrest anchorage, not a complete system. Fasteners to attach the flashing to the roof are not included; install onto framing capable of 5,000 lb, use a full-body harness with a connecting device, and confirm fall clearance. Teko nails alone do not arrest a fall; the attachment bolt is required. Run the Fall Protection Calculator below before you tie off.

Compliance Standards

OSHA 29 CFR 1926.502

Federal construction fall protection anchorage requirements.

ANSI Z359.18-17 Type D

American National Standard for anchorage connectors, Type D.

Typical Applications

How to Install the ARS Metal Roof Anchor

Follow the Super Anchor Safety instruction manual. The sequence below is an overview only.

  1. Choose the anchor. Match the 1006 2x8, 1006D 2x8, or 1022 2x4 to your top chord and roof profile.
  2. Locate and attach. Position below the hip or ridge per a competent-person layout and bolt to the top chord.
  3. Set the flashing. Apply butyl sealant to the EPDM base ribs and seat the flashing over the anchor stem.
  4. Fasten the flashing. Attach the flashing to the roof with fasteners appropriate to the panel; fasteners are not supplied.
  5. Verify. Confirm the connector hole is accessible, connect your PPE, and confirm fall clearance.

Inspection and Retirement

Inspect before each use, with a documented competent-person inspection at least annually. Remove the product from service for any condition below.

  • Anchor body: cracks, deformation, corrosion, or elongated holes.
  • Coating: worn or damaged galvanizing, dacromet, or powder coat at the connection point.
  • Fasteners and flashing: loose, missing, backed-out, or leaking hardware.
  • D-ring or connection point: burrs, sharp edges, or excessive wear.
  • Labels: illegible or missing product identification.

Retire the anchor immediately after any fall-arrest event, or if any inspection point fails.

Frequently Asked Questions

Which anchor should I choose?
Match your top chord: the 1006 2x8 in 14 gauge stainless, the 1006D 2x8 in 11 gauge Dacromet steel, or the 1022 2x4 with a 6.5 inch stem. Refer to the specification table above for full details on construction, finish, and sizing. If you have any doubt about the correct setup, consult a qualified person or the manufacturer instructions before putting the system into service.
What size is the flashing?
The EPDM base is 8 by 8 inches with a 3 inch stem and an aluminum reinforced edge. See the Technical Specifications on this page for the exact materials, dimensions, and ratings. Only trained workers should select, install, and use fall protection equipment for its intended application.
Are roof fasteners included?
No. Fasteners to attach the flashing to the roof are not supplied, so you can match the correct fastener to your panel. Follow the recommended fastener pattern and placement so the connection is secure, and re-check the installation before you rely on it for fall arrest.
Can the flashing be painted?
Yes, with latex paint, to match the roof color. Confirm the surface, slope, and conditions at your work area match the intended application before installation. Always inspect the product before each use and take it out of service if you notice any damage, deformation, or excessive wear.
What standards does it meet?
OSHA 1926.502 and ANSI Z359.18-17 Type D. Following the manufacturer guidance on this page is part of keeping your equipment audit ready. If you have any doubt about the correct setup, consult a qualified person or the manufacturer instructions before putting the system into service.
What is the maximum user weight?
310 pounds including tools and equipment, per the ARS instruction manual. Refer to the specification table above for full details on construction, finish, and sizing. Before every use, confirm the product is compatible with the rest of your fall protection system and that you have adequate fall clearance below the work area.
Do I need a harness with this anchor?
Yes. The anchor is an anchorage point only and must be paired with a full-body harness and a connecting device. Confirm each component in the system is compatible and rated for the intended use before connecting to it. Before every use, confirm the product is compatible with the rest of your fall protection system and that you have adequate fall clearance below the work area.
