1065-ASK Spring Energy Absorber Kit for HLL Systems
The Super Anchor 1065-ASK supplies the factory-specified rigging for any Super Anchor engineered HLL run at the A-end between the turnbuckle and cable. Every component matches the 02-2021 CRA HLL Rigging Manual, so the hardware chain (couplers, energy absorber, turnbuckle, thimbles, and clamps) assembles in the engineered order without substitutions.
What is included: 1 No. 1065-AS 304 stainless spring energy absorber, 2 No. 1087-SC couplers with 3/8 x 1 inch bolts, a 5/8 x 3 inch bolt for the turnbuckle connection, and a 5/8 x 2 inch bolt for the eye thimble connection, all stainless with lock nuts. Cable is ordered separately by the foot (No. 1055-X or 1055-SX), cut to your run length. Engineered runs carry 2 workers in fall arrest or 4 in fall restraint per the rigging manual performance specification.

Who Needs This Product
This hardware is for crews building engineered horizontal lifelines on Super Anchor CRA and CRO anchor systems: typically a 120 ft run with end anchors, pass-thru intermediates every 20 to 30 ft, and this rigging at the terminations. The system requires design by a qualified or competent person, and Super Anchor plan service and third-party engineering are available. Every worker on the line wears a full body harness with a personal energy absorber or an SRL with an internal absorber.
Features
304 stainless energy absorber
Spring type with a tension indicator gauge that closes at approximately 250 to 300 lb of turnbuckle tension.
52 inch controlled deployment
Maximum deployment length per the rigging manual, included in system clearance calculations.
Drop-in connection
Included couplers and certified bolts connect directly into the Super Anchor rigging chain.
Visible inspection state
Any deployment is immediately visible, retiring the absorber before reuse.
PID identification
Model and date of manufacture markings for inspection records.
System matched
Specified component of the engineered CRA/CRO horizontal lifeline system.

Engineered system only. HLL layouts, anchor spacing, and run lengths must be designed by a qualified or competent person, with Super Anchor third-party engineering available. Rig the B-end first, torque cable clamps to 45 ft-lb, and adjust the turnbuckle until the absorber tension gauge deploys fully with no line slack. After any fall, remove the system from service and tag it DO NOT USE.
Compliance Standards
ANSI Z359.1-07 / OSHA 1926.502
All components specified in the 02-2021 HLL Rigging Manual comply per Super Anchor.
Engineered System Basis
HLL runs typically 120 ft (130 ft maximum with third-party engineering) with anchors 20 to 30 ft on center.
2-Person Arrest / 4 Restraint
Per-run performance rating with 310 lb users and 1,200 lb average peak force.
304/316 Stainless Hardware
Couplers in 11 gauge 304 stainless; spring energy absorber in stainless with tension gauge.
Typical Applications
Installation Overview
Rigging sequence per the 02-2021 manual (B-end first):
- Rig the B-end first: factory swaged eye thimble to the coupler narrow end, coupler wide end to the loop top or 4-way with the specified bolts.
- Feed the cable through all pass-thru tops, installing the 4 No. 5010-SM O-rings on the cable before the clamps.
- Field swage the A-end: 3 cable clamps on saddles on the live side, 10 inch dead side, clamps at 2.0 and 4.0 inch centers.
- Attach the A-end coupler, spring energy absorber, and turnbuckle to the end anchor loop top.
- Tighten clamp bolts alternately with a 3/4 inch socket and torque each nut to 45 ft-lb.
- Adjust the turnbuckle until the energy absorber tension gauge is fully deployed with no line slack, and confirm 1/8 inch bolt thread penetration everywhere.
Inspection and Retirement
Inspect before installation and each use, with documented annual inspections. Remove the anchor from service when any of the following apply:
- Any component was subjected to a fall; the HLL must be removed from service and tagged DO NOT USE.
- The energy absorber shows deployment or the tension gauge will not close.
- Couplers, turnbuckles, or clamps are bent, cracked, or corroded.
- Cable shows broken wires, kinks, or crushed sections.
- Bolt thread penetration is under 1/8 inch past the lock nut.
Tag anchors removed from service to prevent further use until inspected by a qualified or competent person.
