- Function check. Verify the product operates as intended before loading it.
- Use within ratings. Stay within the rated capacity and application limits at all times.
- Reinspect after use. Check again when the product returns to the gang box; remove damaged items from service.
Inspection and Retirement

- Cracks, corrosion, deformation, or excessive wear.
- Gates, closures, or moving parts that do not operate positively.
- Cut, frayed, or abraded webbing or stitching (webbing products).
- Missing or illegible markings.
