How to Use

Follow the FallTech instruction manual. The sequence below is an overview only.

  1. Set the tripod. Position it over the portal, extend the legs to the working height, and secure the leg safety chain.
  2. Mount the device. Attach the included device to the tripod leg bracket and route the line over the head sheave.
  3. Connect the entrant. Attach the lifeline to the entrant's dorsal D-ring and verify device operation before entry.
  4. Rescue without entering. Shift the SRL-R into retrieval mode or use the winch to raise the entrant from outside the space.
  5. Store the system. Return all components to the included storage bags after use.

Inspection and Retirement

Inspect each component before use following its manual. A competent person must inspect the full system at least annually.

  • Tripod: legs, pins, sheaves, feet, and safety chain.
  • Device: housing, lifeline, snap hook, brakes, and retrieval mode.
  • Connectors: gates close and lock fully; no cracks or corrosion.
  • Bags and labels: labels legible; date of first use recorded.

Retirement triggers: any device that has arrested a fall must be removed from service, and the full system re-inspected before it returns to work.
