GUS-FXD Guardrail System for Concrete or Steel Substrates
The Frontline GUS-FXD is the fixed-install version of the Frontline guardrail line: where a non-penetrating weighted base is not wanted, this system drills onto concrete or bolts onto steel for a permanent 42 in guardrail that does not move.
Available in 5 ft, 7.5 ft, and 10 ft lengths, the ASTM steel rails slide into two fittings and lock with grub screws; the electrostatic safety green finish keeps the edge visible. The galvanized fittings and painted rails meet the OSHA guardrail criteria of 1926 and 1910 - permanent edge protection installed in minutes.

How to Set Up the GUS05-FXD
Follow the manufacturer's manual. The sequence below is an overview only.
- Inspect. Check bases, posts, rails, and fittings before each use.
- Plan the run. Lay out base/post positions per the manual maximum spacing for your edge.
- Set the bases. Place the non-penetrating bases (or clamp/anchor per the system) along the edge.
- Install posts and rails. Slide posts into the base fittings and seat top rails, mid rails, and toe boards.
- Secure. Tighten grub screws and connections per the manual.
- Verify. Have a competent person confirm the system before relying on it.
Inspection and Retirement
Inspect before each use and after any impact. Pull any component from service for the conditions below.
- Posts and bases: bending, cracks, corrosion, or coating breakdown.
- Clamping / counterweight: secure, no slipping under hand load.
- Rails and toe boards: secure seating in the fittings, no damage.
- Fasteners and grub screws: present, functional, tightened per the manual.
- Markings: labels must be present and legible.
Remove any component from service that fails inspection. After any impact or load event, inspect the full system before reuse. Guardrail is passive protection: a damaged system gives false confidence.
