LAS48 Universal Ladder Stabilizer for Straight and Extension Ladders
The LAS48 widens an extension ladder's contact with the building from a few inches of rail to a 40 to 46 inch adjustable span - dramatically cutting tip and wobble at the top. Two rubber bumpers on each end grip the wall and protect the facade, gutters, and siding, while the 12 inch standoff holds the ladder clear for gutter work and overhangs.
ASTM rated steel with electrostatic powder coating and reflective tape for low-light visibility, rated for Type IA extra heavy duty ladders at 300 lbs. Universal fit mounts to most straight and extension ladders. Conforms to ANSI A14.8-2020 for ladder accessories. Note: a stabilizer steadies the ladder - it is not a fall arrest device.

Who Needs This Product
This product is a ladder accessory for anyone working off straight or extension ladders - roofers, gutter crews, painters, window cleaners, and home service techs. It widens the base of support at the wall and stands the ladder off the surface. It steadies the setup; it does not arrest a fall - pair ladder work at height with appropriate fall protection.
Features
Wide stance up top
40 to 46 inch adjustable contact width replaces a few inches of rail - the single biggest stability upgrade an extension ladder can get.
Facade protection
Rubber bumpers on each end protect siding, stucco, and glass - and grip better than bare steel.
12 inch standoff
Holds the ladder off the wall for clean access to gutters, fascia, and overhangs.
Universal mount
Fits most straight and extension ladder rails without brand-specific brackets.
Type IA duty rating
ASTM rated steel construction rated for 300 lb extra heavy duty ladder service.
Reflective tape
Visible in headlights and low light when the ladder stays up at dusk.

Not a fall arrest device. The LAS48 stabilizes the ladder - it does not stop a fall. Maintain three points of contact, set the ladder at the proper 4:1 angle, and use appropriate fall protection where required. Verify the mount on your ladder per the manual before climbing.

Typical Applications
Setup Overview
Follow the manufacturer's manual. The sequence below is an overview only.
- Inspect. Check the frame, bumpers, fasteners, and your ladder before each use.
- Mount. Attach the stabilizer to the top section rails per the manual - universal hardware fits most ladders.
- Set the angle. Position the ladder at the 4:1 angle with the stabilizer bearing evenly on the wall.
- Check the bumpers. Both rubber ends should contact a sound, flat surface - never glass alone or a corner.
- Test before climbing. Load the bottom rungs and confirm zero rock or walk.
- Re-check after moves. Every reposition gets a fresh bumper-contact and angle check.
Inspection and Retirement
Inspect before each use, with a documented competent-person inspection at least every 6 months. Pull the equipment from service for any of the conditions below.
- Frame: bending, cracks, or corrosion through the powder coat.
- Rubber bumpers: cuts, hardening, or missing rubber exposing steel.
- Mounting hardware: tight, complete, and undamaged.
- Reflective tape: intact enough to be seen.
- Fit: no looseness between stabilizer and ladder rails.
Retirement triggers: frame deformation, missing or worn-through bumpers, damaged mounting hardware, or any condition where the stabilizer cannot hold the ladder steady.
