Nylon Rope Lifeline with Dual Thimbles

The 195R-2 is the classic nylon vertical: 5/8 inch three-strand with reinforced thimble eyes at both ends, flexible enough for constant repositioning and tough enough for years of rigging. The dual-thimble format takes shackles and carabiners at either end.

Nylon's flexibility suits systems that move and re-rig often, from roof verticals to restraint lines.

Frequently Asked Questions

Nylon or the 300L blend: which lifeline?
Nylon handles and re-rigs more pleasantly and takes shock loading well; the 300L blend wins on abrasion and weight. Crews that strike the line daily often prefer nylon.
What do the thimbles do?
They armor the rope eyes against the hardware, so hooks and shackles bear on steel instead of fiber.
What grab pairs with it?
Standard 5/8 inch grabs including the Miller 8174 and the MLS4 assembly.
What lengths exist?
The vendor makes 25 through 100 ft; the 75 ft ships from stock.
Does nylon stretch?
More than polyester blends, which cushions loads but adds to fall distance; account for it in clearance.
Why does the photo show a blue rope with a snap hook?
That is the only image the manufacturer publishes for this SKU, on both the product listing and the specification sheet, and it depicts their rope lifeline family. The 195R-2 you receive is the white 5/8 inch nylon lifeline with reinforced thimble eyes at both ends, exactly as the specification table describes.
How often does it need inspection?
Before each use along the full length: cuts, fraying, glazing, soft spots. Competent person inspection annually.
