Who Needs This Product

Crews that need to move tools, parts, and equipment through a vertical portal use a materials winch so the personnel system stays dedicated to the entrant. Keeping material handling on its own winch is a best practice that prevents overloading the personnel line and keeps the entry portal organized.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can this materials winch lift personnel?
No. It is rated for material handling only and must never be connected to a person. Use a personnel winch or 3-way SRL-R for raising and lowering workers.
What is the working load of the materials winch?
See the specification table for the rated load. Stay inside the rating and keep loads controlled at all times.
Why use a separate winch for materials?
A dedicated materials line keeps tools and debris off the personnel system, prevents shock loads on rescue equipment, and keeps the entry portal organized during work.
What cable lengths are available?
The winch comes with 60 ft or 120 ft of galvanized steel cable, matching standard entry depths for municipal and industrial work.
How does the winch mount to my tripod or davit?
It mounts to the same FallTech bracket system used by the personnel devices. Use the leg bracket assembly on tripods or the device receiver bracket on davits.
What inspection does it require?
Inspect the cable, hook, and brake before each use and have a competent person inspect the winch at least annually. Remove it from service if the cable shows broken wires or the brake slips.
Does the winch include a storage bag?
Yes, it ships with a weather-resistant storage bag that protects the cable and mechanism between jobs.
