Typical Applications
How to Use
Follow the FallTech instruction manual. The sequence below is an overview only.
- Mount the winch. Attach it to the tripod or davit bracket and route the cable over the sheave.
- Attach the load. Connect the load to the hook, staying within the rated capacity.
- Control the lift. Crank the handle to raise or lower the load at a controlled speed.
- Materials only. Never lift personnel with a materials winch. It is rated for material handling only.
Inspection and Retirement
Inspect the winch before each use. A competent person inspection is required at least annually.
- Cable: broken wires, kinks, and corrosion.
- Hook and latch: proper closure and function.
- Brake: must hold the rated load without slipping.
Retirement triggers: shock loading, cable damage, or brake slippage.
