Never alter or modify the shield, and never clean it with paints, solvents, or hydrocarbon cleaners that can cause unnoticeable damage. Inspect before each use and discard the shield immediately if it is subjected to a forcible impact.

Typical Applications
Installation Overview
Install and use per the Malta Dynamics Mesh Face Shield Instructions for Use. The sequence below is an overview only.
- Inspect. Check the mesh, frame, and clips for cracks, distortion, or damage before each use.
- Put on primary protection. Wear safety spectacles or goggles first; the mesh shield is a secondary protector.
- Orient the shield. Hold the shield facing the forward direction.
- Install. Insert the tabs into the side slots of the APEX helmet and push until the tabs lock into place.
- Set the position. Select one of the two position options for the task.
- Remove. To remove, push the tabs outward from inside the helmet, then push the tabs out of the helmet.
Inspection and Retirement
Inspect before each use. Remove the shield from service for any of the conditions below.
- Mesh: cracks, distortion, dents, or any damage to the mesh screen.
- Frame: cracks, warping, or separation from the mesh.
- Mounting clips and tabs: cracks, wear, or tabs that will not lock.
- Fit: a shield that no longer seats securely in the helmet slots.
- Cleanliness: clean only with mild detergent in lukewarm water, never solvents.
Retirement triggers: any forcible impact to the mesh shield, or any cracked, distorted, or damaged mesh or frame. Replace immediately at any sign of wear, abuse, or environmental degradation.
