Tie Down 4-Person Adjustable Horizontal Lifeline Kit, 100 ft Span with Two Squatch Carts
The 14405 is the adjustable horizontal lifeline that turns two Squatch carts into a 100 ft mobile lifeline system with no roof penetration. Rigged between the carts at a 15 ft setback on a building at least 20 ft tall, it protects three workers in fall arrest and four in fall restraint along the whole span.
As a standalone temporary lifeline on rated anchorages it is a four worker system. At about 26 lb in the bag it is the lightest way to cover a long roof edge, a slab, or a stretch of soil or asphalt with a single setup.

Who Needs This Product
The 14405 is for crews that need to cover a long edge with one setup: roofers on big box and warehouse roofs, tilt up and precast crews on slabs, and site crews near long drop offs. It pairs with two Squatch carts for a fully mobile, non-penetrating lifeline, or with any rated anchorages as a four worker temporary lifeline. Each worker needs a harness, a connecting device sized for the lifeline sag, and a rescue plan.
Features
100 ft mobile span
Between two Squatch carts the system covers 100 ft of edge for three fall arrest and four restraint workers, documented in the Squatch DoC ETR-61010 R1.
Four worker standalone
On rated anchorages it is a four person adjustable temporary horizontal lifeline.
Adjustable length
Tension the lifeline to the span with the built in adjuster.
No penetration with Squatch
The ballasted carts anchor the line, so the roof, slab or ground is untouched.
Light and packable
About 26 lb in a carry bag; one person carries it up the ladder.
Fast relocation
Roll the carts, re-tension the line, and the whole crew is covered at the next section.
Lifeline sag adds to fall clearance. A horizontal lifeline deflects under a fall, which increases the clearance required below the worker. With two Squatch carts the setback is 15 ft and the building must be at least 20 ft tall. Rig only on rated anchorages per the manual and confirm clearance with the calculator below.
Compliance Standards
OSHA 29 CFR 1926.502(d)(8)

Typical Applications
How to Use
Follow the Tie Down instruction manual. The sequence below is an overview only.
- Set the carts. Position two Squatch carts 15 ft from the edge with the span between them up to 100 ft, ballast set, on a building at least 20 ft tall.
- Rig the lifeline. Connect the ends to the cart lifeline points per the manual and take up slack with the adjuster.
- Check clearance. Account for lifeline sag plus the connecting device and harness stretch.
- Connect. Up to three fall arrest and four restraint workers on the line.
- Move the system. Disconnect, roll the carts, re-tension, and tie back on.
Inspection and Retirement
Inspect before each use, with a documented competent person inspection at least annually. Remove the system from service for any of the conditions below.
- Lifeline cable or rope: cuts, broken wires, kinks, abrasion, chemical damage.
- Adjuster and tensioner: slipping, bent parts, corrosion.
- End connectors: bent gates, gates that will not lock, corrosion.
- Energy absorber (if fitted): deployment indicator tripped.
- Labels and bag: illegible or missing labels.
Remove the system from service immediately after any fall arrest event and have it inspected by a competent person before it returns to use.
