Tie Down PX5 Sentinel Penetrating Mobile Fall Protection Cart, 7 Workers, Concrete Capable
The PX5 Sentinel takes the seven worker PX5 platform and adds mass, storage and concrete capability. At 1,069 lb with a locking, weather stripped material box, front and rear brakes and vertical lifting rings, it is the cart for crews who work the same roof for weeks and need their gear on the deck with them.
On TPO, EPDM, ISO, metal deck and plywood it protects up to five workers in fall arrest and two in restraint with the five steel penetrator spikes. With the spike device removed per the manual it also works on smooth concrete and compacted soil or clay for two fall arrest and two restraint workers, something no other Tie Down cart does. The PX5 Rescue Winch (72831) fits the Sentinel for membrane work.

Start with the cart, check the accessories your crew needs, and add the whole package to your cart in one click. The finance sample above updates as you build.

1,069 lb penetrating cart with concrete setup, up to 7 workers, locking material box.

Manual winch with 100 ft galvanized lifeline, folding handle, swivel snap hook with impact indicator and carry bag. Mounts to the PX5 Original and Sentinel for assisted rescue on membrane roofs (not for the concrete setup).
Everything in the package ships together on one pallet by LTL freight. The fixed freight shown under Shipping above covers the whole package to a commercial address in the continental US and is added at checkout. Alaska, Hawaii and Canadian orders have additional shipping fees based on carrier cost at the time of order.
Who Needs This Product
The Sentinel is for contractors and facility teams who need one mobile anchorage that covers both the membrane roof and the concrete deck or slab, and who want tools and PPE locked on the roof overnight. Precast and tilt up crews, parking structure maintenance, and roofers working mixed surfaces choose it over the lighter PX5 Original. Each worker still needs a harness, a connecting device sized to the range of use, and a rescue plan.
Features
Concrete and compacted soil
Remove the penetrator spike device per the manual and the Sentinel anchors two fall arrest and two restraint workers on smooth concrete or compacted soil and clay at an 8 ft setback (9 ft on soil and clay).
Locking material box
A weather stripped, locking box keeps harnesses, SRLs, tools and the rescue winch dry and secure on the roof. A fire extinguisher holder is built in.
Front and rear brakes
Brakes at both ends hold the 1,069 lb cart on slopes up to 1:12 while the crew ties off.
Seven workers on membranes
Five red fall arrest points low on the cart (three on TPO and ISO, five on plywood and 18 to 22 gauge deck) plus two restraint shackles on top.
Vertical lifting rings
Lifting rings on the frame give the crane a straight pick for the heavier cart.
Same tested platform
Same drop tested PX5 chassis, 500 lb flat-free tires and 45 degree angled outer tie-offs as the PX5 Original.
Concrete setup removes the spike device. Once set up for concrete the Sentinel cannot be used on any other surface until the penetrator device is reinstalled, and the rescue winch cannot be used in a concrete application. Setback is 6 ft on membranes, 8 ft on concrete, 9 ft on compacted soil or clay. Confirm fall clearance with the calculator below.

Typical Applications
How to Use
Follow the Tie Down instruction manual. The sequence below is an overview only.
- Choose the setup. Membrane, metal deck and plywood use the penetrator spikes; smooth concrete and compacted soil use the concrete setup with the spike device removed.
- Verify the load. Confirm the deck or slab carries the 1,069 lb cart plus the crew before hoisting.
- Hoist and position. Lift by the vertical rings, roll to the setback for the surface (6 ft membranes, 8 ft concrete, 9 ft soil or clay), square to the edge, and set both brakes.
- Connect by surface. Membranes and decks: up to five fall arrest and two restraint. Concrete and soil: two fall arrest on the concrete connection and two restraint.
- Reposition. Keep restraint lengths 5 ft shorter than the distance to the edge while rolling, then reset the brakes.
Inspection and Retirement
Inspect before each use, with a documented competent person inspection at least annually. Remove the system from service for any of the conditions below.
- Penetrator spikes and concrete connection mechanism: bending, cracks, corrosion or binding.
- Tie-off shackles and lifting rings: distortion, cracks, worn pins or missing retainers.
- Frame, material box and welds: cracks, bends, corrosion, a lid that will not lock.
- Tires, both brakes and handles: damaged tires, brakes that will not hold, handles that will not pin.
- Labels and instruction plate: illegible or missing markings.
Remove the system from service immediately after any fall arrest event and have it inspected by a competent person before it returns to use.
