SSRA1 Seam Anchor For Standing Seam Fall Protection - Nylon Tipped Set Screw Version
The Standing Seam Roof Anchor SSRA1-Nylon is a next-generation tie-off point allowing homeowners, commercial building owners, and roofing contractors to work safely on standing seam metal roofs without any panel penetrations. The SSRA1 Nylon Tipped Screw version protects standing seam profiles on 22-gauge steel and 24-gauge steel standing seam roofs.

SSRA1 Compatibility Overview
The Panel Compatibility Chart is provided only as a reference for what the SSRA1 will physically mount to. This list makes no determination as to the structural integrity of any roof system or seam. It is the Competent Person's ultimate responsibility to determine that a roof system and seam are structurally capable of withstanding an impact in the event of a fall. The SSRA1 Standing Seam Roof Anchor fits over 95% of today's standing seam panels. It is tested and approved for use only on 24-gauge and 22-gauge steel. It is not compatible with aluminum, zinc, copper, or other soft metals. Do not install on curved, tapered, or batten-cap profiles.
Nailstrip Panel Warning
Nailstrip-style panels are a hit-or-miss proposition (roughly 50% compatibility) because some seams are too wide at the base, which can cause the anchor to slide upward during installation. A detailed compatibility list is available, but panel dimensions vary between roll formers and manufacturers, so treat it as a guideline, not a guarantee.
Installer Responsibility
It's solely up to the installer or specifier to confirm that the SSRA1 is suitable for the specific panel and application.
Test Fit Recommendation
To avoid delays or surprises, perform a test fit with an RCT seam clamp or SSRA1 anchor well before the scheduled install. Test-fitting the SSRA products helps confirm proper fitment with your exact panel profile. It's solely up to the installer or specifier to verify that the SSRA1 is suitable for the specific panel and application.
Set-Screw Options
- Cupped-tip: 22 gauge steel panels, torque to 90 in-lbs
- Nylon-tip: 22/24 gauge steel panels, torque to 180–200 in-lbs
Surface Impact
As with all seam anchors, both screw types will create a small dimple in the seam to ensure a secure, non-slip connection. Minor paint abrasion may occur on coated panels. The installer can easily touch up scratches with a matching paint pen.
Nylon-Tipped Set Screw Standing Seam Roof Anchor Testing
An independent ISO 17025/ANSI Z359.18-certified materials testing facility recently conducted ultimate failure testing on the SSRA1. The 14,500 lb. results shocked everyone and rivaled all current competitors' posted test results. The test ended when the Grade 8 top bolts sheared, leaving the aluminum anchor body completely unharmed or bent. This incredible strength is due to the patented structural design of the anchor body. The SSRA1 is in a class of its own!
SSRA1 Patented Design For Standing Seam Fall Protection
The SSRA1's patented, non-penetrating design is unlike anything else currently available. It consists of a solid 6061-T6 aluminum body with 12 stainless steel set screws with nylon tips. The standard assembly includes a 5,000 lb. D-ring for single-man attachment. Direct set screw attachment has proven to be superior to compression-type anchors. The direct set screws do not allow the device to slide during impacts, thus avoiding the issues experienced with weaker compression-style anchors. We recommend the use of inline shock absorbers or shock packs when using the SSRA1. 22-gauge steel panels are compatible with the cupped and nylon-tipped set screws. 24-gauge steel panels are compatible with nylon-tipped set screws only.
The SSRA1 anchor product has interchangeable adapter plates to expand the function of the system. The SSRA2 Adjustable Roof Jacks allow workers the ability to mount 10' long walkboards onto the SSRA1 seam anchors. The SSRA3 Anchor Plate adapters mount on top of the SSRA1 anchors and allow horizontal lifelines to be mounted without seam penetrations.

SSRA1 Benefits for Workers On Standing Seam Roofs
The SSRA1 has several distinct advantages for homeowners, building owners, and contractors:
- Only 4.5 lbs.! This is the world's lightest OSHA 5,000 lb. certified anchor. It installs in minutes with basic hand tools for temporary or permanent attachment.
- The patented, universal fit design works on over 500 standing seam panel profiles with no reassembly required! It fits T-seams, bulb seams, SnapLok, single lok, double lok, MR-24, etc. No other anchor fits as many profiles. A list of compatible profiles can be found on the Panel Compatibility Tab.
- ANSI ASTM B-117 salt spray tested, non-corrosive aluminum and stainless steel components.
- Made in the USA with a limited lifetime warranty.
- Clean, low-profile attachment to the seam minimizes tripping hazards and is less obtrusive on permanent attachments.
- OSHA conducted tests up to 5,000 lbs. to assess impacts from any direction, ensuring safety. Workers can access both sides of the roof without repositioning the anchor. For detailed test reports, please refer to the Test Report Page.
- The SSRA1 is the only certified component system for mounting anything to a standing seam roof. The interchangeable mount allows for the attachment of devices from various fall protection manufacturers. It can be used for attaching roof jacks, walk boards, SRLs, horizontal lifelines, ladder anchoring, etc.
Proper installation requires a torque wrench that reads in/lbs and a 3/16" hex bit socket. See our torque wrench/socket bit set here.
